Joint EU-China initiative for electromedical safety standardization

Experts from testing labs, standards organizations, medical device manufacturers, and authorities met in Shanghai on February 24 and 25, 2009 to discuss how to align their understanding of international standards for medical electrical equipment safety. The conference focused on GB 9706.1-2007, which came into effect in China in July 2008 and is equivalent to the 2nd edition of IEC 60601-1 on medical electrical equipment safety.
